Description
Marie Muller is a young French artist living currently in Malmö, Sweden, where she studies her Master in Fine Arts degree at Malmö Art Academy. She is also involved in the Nordic Sound Art Program, a 2 years joint study program between the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, Malmö Art Academy, Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Faculty of Visual Arts and Trondheim Academy of Fine Art.
Marie Muller works with installations that combine video/animation with music/sound field recording. She creates colorful microcosms and calls them "mirages" : visuals and sounds reveal an atmosphere vacillating between reality and illusion, allowing the imagination to play a role in the emergence of different layers of reality. She tries to communicate and connect her own daydreaming with the audience. She focuses more on sound in order to generate the viewer´s own visuals and emotions. As poets draw pictures with words, she reveals images with sounds.
Experience
2004: Licence d´Arts Plastiques, Université de Metz, France (3 years study).
2007: DNSEP (Diplôme National Supérieur d´Expression Plastique), Ecole Supérieure d'Art de Metz (5 years study).
2006-2007: Exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, Finland, in the "Time and Space" Department (6 months).
