Description
Dodda Maggý is an Icelandic artist currently living in Malmö, Sweden working on her Master's degree at the department of Time-Based Media at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen and is a part of Nordic Sound Art, a two-year study program (MFA level).
"Altered states of consciousness and feelings of displacement between body, mind and self are the main subject matters of my work. I use video and music to externalize an internal way of being; the qualities of the mediums allow me to project my experiences of emotions and consciousness out into the world. I work with video and music together and separately as purely sound based work or silent moving images. A character, a voice, or a gaze represents the “self” in the internal dimensions of dreams, memories or imagination."
