Der bliver spillet på plastikkeyboards, farvestrålende rytmebokse og et utal af andet batteridrevet børnelegetøj, når AUX og LAB inviterer til BEND-ORAMA koncert i PLEX Musikteater søndag den 6. maj kl. 20. Men legetøjet er ikke til at genkende – i hvert fald ikke på lyden.
I dagene op til koncerten har 20 lydentusiaster og teknikfreaks circuit bended legetøjet, dvs. trukket nye kredsløb og modificeret legetøjet til underfundige, støjende, skrattende og hvinende instrumenter.

The experimental Danish theatre company Hotel Pro Forma is working on a new play called RELIEF. It is a cinematic performance in 2½D. RELIEF is about the conditions for the senses and about Ukraine as a geopolitical relief. Nordic Sound Art at Mezzaninen
In collaboration with Wundergrund 2008 festival the Nordic Sound Art, Joint Study Programme will do a presentation of sound art at the Mezzanin at Charlottenborg. From October 31-November 8 you can experience sound art, performances and hear presentations about the Nordic Sound Art, Joint Study Programme. On display is a program of works done by the students of the Sound Art program.

The students were evaluated by an external evaluator. The individual evaluation was based on the projects exhibited at The Museum for Contemporary art in Roskilde, for the exhibition Soundings, a written thesis and an interview.

Field recording and site-specific sound
Nordic Sound Art workshop, Trondheim, Norway - 28.04. - 06.04.11

The workshop will take place at NTNUs seminar location “Hopsjø” which is located on the island Hitra, Norway. Through a series of excursions, sound walks and on-site experiments, we will investigate different auditive environments. We will cover different methods of field recording and present a historical overview of works by artists working in this genre. The students will produce works and the workshop will culminate with a public presentation in Trondheim.

Artists from the Nordic Sound Art programme are featured with site-specific works at SPOR Festival, Denmark.

The installation is created in collaboration with the artist Matt Rogalsky, former asistant of David Tudor, and Carsten Seiffarth from Gallery Singuhr.

Theory & Graphic Scores Workshop

The next Nordic Sound Art workshop takes place from oct. 31st - nov. 4th at the Inter Arts Center, Malmø Sweden. The workshop is centered around general theoretical lectures given by Rune Søchting and Gertrud Sandqvist. A walk-trough of key historical sound art works are given by Jonas Olesen.

The Nordic Sound Art programme is a two-year, MA level, education in sound art.
The study programme is arranged as a series of 12 intensive courses or workshops. One course-module of the programme will typically have one or two weeks duration.

Interaction with MAX/MSP

MAX/MSP workshop at KUVA - The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki.
Oct. 3rd - Oct. 7th.
The workshop will explore the programming language MAX/MSP and it's possibilities in creating interactive installtions. Different sensors will be used and the WII Remote controller will be used to gather environmental information. This data i sent to computers to create response. In the workshop the students will get hands-on guidance in realizing interactive installations that incorporates sound.

Neanderthal Electronics
The first course in the new cycle of the Nordic Sound Art programme, takes place at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen Denmark Oct. 22 - Nov. 2nd.
8 new students are in the programme, representing four nordic fine art academies: The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts, Bergen Academy of Fine Arts and Umeå Academy of Fine Arts.

The lecture provides an overview of the history of Sound Art, from the early pioneers to the present practice of sonic art. Sonic Materiality

The course aims to deepen understanding and experience in working with recorded sound, audio processing, spatialization techniques, and sonic composition. This will include experimentation with different processing techniques, sound dynamics and manipulation, and approaches toward editing and final presentation. Conceptualization of "sonic signification" and listening experience will be further emphasized.
