For his new sound piece, Jacob Kirkegaard has turned his ears inwards: Labyrinthitis consists enirely of sounds generated in Kirkegaard’s own ears.

Deep inside the labyrinth of the inner ear in a spiral tube called ‘cochlea’ there are thousands of microscopic hair cells functioning as sensory receptors. When sound enters the ear, they begin to vibrate in the watery liquid surrounding them like underwater piano strings. Thus, the ...

Lydlandskap og komposisjon er tama og det foregår fra 13. - 17. august. Kurset er lagt opp rundt undervisning i både tekniske aspekter og estetiske foredrag.

 

NOTAMs sommerskole 2007 inneholder en større komponent estetisk orientering enn tidligere år. Konsepter NOTAM kommer til å gå igjennom er Soundscapekomposisjon, feltopptak, akustisk økologi, sonografi og idébasert lydkunst. Tekniske aspekter man får opplæring i er opptaksteknikk, ProTools, signalgang i studioer, masteringteknikker og lydbehandling under både Linux og Mac OSX.

Piksel[1] is an annual event for artists and developers working with free and open source audiovisual software. Part workshop, part festival, it is organised in Bergen, Norway, by the Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts (BEK) [2] and involves participants from more than a dozen countries exchanging ideas, coding, presenting art and software projects, doing workshops, performances and discussions on the aesthetics and politics of free and open source software.

lege1_web1.jpgDer bliver spillet på plastikkeyboards, farvestrålende rytmebokse og et utal af andet batteridrevet børnelegetøj, når AUX og LAB inviterer til BEND-ORAMA koncert i PLEX Musikteater søndag den 6. maj kl. 20. Men legetøjet er ikke til at genkende – i hvert fald ikke på lyden.

I dagene op til koncerten har 20 lydentusiaster og teknikfreaks circuit bended legetøjet, dvs. trukket nye kredsløb og modificeret legetøjet til underfundige, støjende, skrattende og hvinende instrumenter.

reliefThe experimental Danish theatre company Hotel Pro Forma is working on a new play called RELIEF. It is a cinematic performance in 2½D. RELIEF is about the conditions for the senses and about Ukraine as a geopolitical relief. On the basis of the pilot phase of the programme decision has been made to continue the development of the study programme.
The next group of students will be starting the Nordic Sound Art Programme in the fall of 2010.

Concluding the first version of Nordic Sound Art

The first version of Nordic Sound Art Joint Study programme is finished.

The students were evaluated by an external evaluator. The individual evaluation was based on the projects exhibited at The Museum for Contemporary art in Roskilde, for the exhibition Soundings, a written thesis and an interview.

The German artist and sound art pioneer Christina Kubisch is in Copenhagen as Artist-in-Residence. Among others she has realised a Copenhagen edition of the work "Electrical Walks". With custom-made headphones it is possible to walk through the city and hear the electromagnetic activity that is present all over.
