Production meeting including Trine Eidsmo (representing TEKS):
Since the first two days have been packed wit presentations and thus mainly input for the participants, the focus now is to how we’re going to work. The production meeting centred round the possibilities regarding technical equipment on the premises of presentation next Saturday. According to trine this is not going to be any problem as long as the participants are clear on what equipment is wanted.
Presentations of ideas for the work so far. The preliminary thoughts includes both collaborations and individual projects. Some of the projects did not take into account the cinematic approach using surround sound. But as the ideas are still on a preliminary stage, this can be sorted.
Trine gave a short presentation of TEKS (Trondheim electronic art centre) (http://www.teks.no). Part of PNEK (production network of electronic art in Norway). Mainly there to help artists make their projects. This includes both local and artists visiting Trondheim. Ideas for projects might be finished or developed within TEKS. Work a lot with toward the university. On of the tasks for TEKS is to connect the artists with environments that can help them produce their projects. Example of this is the Heart Chamber Orchestra (http://heartchamberorchestra.org/ )TEKS also rents out equipment to artists, but so far the range of equipment is quite small.
Trondheim Matchmaking (http://www.matchmaking.no/) is an annual festival both consisting of a conference and exhibition. Matching artists and technologies. So far there has been mostly international artists exhibiting. The conference part is mostly theoretically. But also artist present their works in the exhibition. All of the presentation exploring the possibilities within the electronic arts. The theme for the conference this year is Nature. One main emphasis in the matchmaking is to what is actually new technology.
During the rest of the day participants started production and getting to know the surround sound setup.
