Two weeks of workshops and lectures

 

Program

  

Tuesday

Rune introduced to week program a.o. the work of Christina Kubisch.

 

Wednesday

Workshop with Prof. Christina Kubisch, first day. Presentation of her work. Presentation of the electromagnetic headphone-receivers. Everyone went exploring the city with the headphones.

 

Thursday

Workshop with Prof. Christina Kubisch, second day. Student Presentation of ideas to soundpiece based on electromagnetic recordings. Student in turn went recording. And started working with material.

 

Friday

Workshop with Prof. Christina Kubisch, third day. Student continued working with recorded material.

In the evening a presentation of results. Everyone received a copy of “hum compilation”.

 

Monday

Jacob Kreutzfeldt, On Soundscapes, first day. Introduction to the theory of soundscapes by Murray Schaefer. Everyone went to record at shopping centre.

 

Tuesday

Jacob Kreutzfeldt, On Soundscapes, second day. Presentation of aesthetic soundscapes, a.o. Hildegard Westerkamp. Listened to recordings from the day before.

Jacob presented his research on sound in Japanese shopping centre.

 

Wednesday

Student presentation. Everyone was giving the assignment to present a soundpiece. Presentations between 30-45 minutes.

 

Thursday

Student presentation of soundpieces, day 2.

Went to Copenhagen university to look at facilities for later participation at the event LARM in ØREstaden. Students later did works for this one-night event. Went to Copenhagen to see a work on display at a Gallery by Morten

 

Friday

Torben Sangild lecture on the aesthetic of noise.
