Christina Kubisch - presentation, 30th September, 10:00
The German artist and sound art pioneer Christina Kubisch is in Copenhagen as Artist-in-Residence. Among others she has realised a Copenhagen edition of the work "Electrical Walks". With custom-made headphones it is possible to walk through the city and hear the electromagnetic activity that is present all over.
In conjunction with her stay she will give a lecture at University of Copenhagen, Department of Arts and Cultural Studies. Here she will talk about her works.

Christina Kubisch is one of the European pioneers of sound art. She has made audio-works based on electromagnetic induction since the end of the 1970's. Kubisch is educated in an art academy and has subsequently studied composition and electronic music. She works across a number of genres such as sound art, visual art and electroacoustic compostion. For more than 30 years she has exhibited works and done performances all over the world at festivals and exhibitions such as Documenta in Kassel, The Venice Biennal and Ars Electronica. She is professor at the Art Academy of Saarbrücken and lives and works in Berlin.

The lecture is arranged in collaboration between the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Wundergrund festival and Auditory Culture at the department of Arts and Cultural Studies.

The lecture will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 10:00-12:00
