Binaural sound at Hotel Pro Forma

The experimental Danish theatre company Hotel Pro Forma is working on a new play called RELIEF. It is a cinematic performance in 2½D. RELIEF is about the conditions for the senses and about Ukraine as a geopolitical relief. It is a play that will unfold in a 2-dimensional landscape on a cinema-screen and in a 3-dimensional sound landscape. The music and the sound are developed by Ukraine musicians in UKR.tele.kom. The play uses the technique of binaural sound to create an intense spatial sonic experience. In order to experience the effect of the binaural technique it must be listened to over headphones.
The play is for one performer, two dummyhead-puppets and 220 headphones. It opens on May 5, 2008
